We came to know Dorothy and Jacob through a network of previous couples. Altogether, we have photographed four different weddings from this same network of people.  Word of mouth has been so kind to us and we are so happy to have met such a great group of people.

Dorothy and Jacob exchanged vows in the lush, tree lined gardens of the Historic Deepwood Estate in Salem, Oregon. During the reception, Jacob’s mother and Dorothy’s father both spoke of how much they loved their children but had never seen them so happy as when they met one another. And  when Jacob stood up to toast his bride, it was obvious how much these two not only love each other but also respect and value their relationship. We understand that feeling and it was wonderful to photograph it in another couple.

You had some really nice moments in this post. The groom tearing up, the little girl praying and the couple walking down the aisle as husband and wife we're among my favorites. The first portrait of the couple in the tree's is amazing too. Nice work. (10.31.2011 05:15pm)

The first thing I noticed about Molly was her smile and the fact that she couldn’t stop smiling.  Chris and Molly were so natural together. I hardly felt like I had to give them poses or tell them how to look. They were in their moment and I feel lucky I got to capture it. We had a fun day out at Sauvie Island, outside of Portland and I knew we were good fit when Chris looked at me and said “Let’s grab a beer after this.” I can’t wait for their wedding next year.

Sooo many amazing shots I'm having a hard time picking some favorites. These are awesome. The opening shot with the sunflower is killer, the wide shot with the tree is super fun and I love the two shots that you did inside the door of the barn! You rock! (10.31.2011 05:21pm)

  • Jessica Stout:

Seriously. You are a framing master. Loving 1, 4, 5, 6, but 17 took the cake for me. (11.04.2011 04:38pm)

Aryn first contacted us over a year ago about photographing her wedding. Her sister went to high school with Lindsay and we always love it when friends come to us for photography. They are always so trusting and so excited about having us be a part of their wedding. That was exactly the case at Aryn and Reid’s wedding, where we instantly felt like we were a part of the group that included old high school buddies, family and friends.

Aryn and Reid were married at the Hans Fahden Winery in Calistoga, California. Their ceremony brought together family members as Aryn’s mom walked her down the aisle and her dad officiated. After the two exchanged emotional vows they had written for each other, the reception began in the wine cave. Easily one of the most beautiful settings we have been in, the entire cave was lit solely by candlelight for the dinner. Through toasts by family, friends and Reid himself, we realized how much Aryn and Reid care about the people around them and how much it meant to have them by their side on their wedding day. It was an honor to be a part of it. Cheers Aryn and Reid!

“Just do your thing because you do it so well.” Those are the words Rebecca kept telling us throughout the day and it is something we love to hear at a wedding.

Ryan and Rebecca’s wedding was held on the beautiful grounds of the DeArmond Estate in Helevatia, Oregon.  From the centerpieces that included birdcages and old books to the hand-sewn pillows on blankets in the grass, every detail was carefully chosen by Rebecca to reflect their unique style. We brought our twin lens film camera along, loaded with b&w film to capture their modern, vintage and handcrafted wedding.

The ceremony was an emotional and thoughtful celebration with readings from Rebecca’s father and Ryan’s brother. After which, there was a reception where guests played croquet on the lawn, took photos in a custom booth, ate pie and danced to one of the best live bands we’ve heard at a wedding. Ryan made an emotional toast to his new wife and it was an honor to witness the outpouring of love that these two share.

Cheers to Ryan and Rebecca.
