We just photographed the wedding of Kim’s sister, Mai, this past weekend. From the moment we arrived at the wedding, Kim couldn’t stop talking about how excited she was to see her engagement photos and how she has been checking our blog every day. Well the wait is over and I am so happy to finally share these photos with them. Kim and Alex wanted a carnival-themed shoot. Luckily, Portland’s annual Rose Festival was going on which made for the perfect setting. From the carousel to the carnival games, these two were so cute and excited the entire time. I can’t wait for their wedding this September because if it’s anything like this shoot, it’s going to be a blast. Cheers!

You can’t get a cuter couple than Jen and Jen.  They’re fun, creative, energetic and super in love.  Their nickname for themselves is Jen Squared, which only shows their great sense of humor and joyful approach to everything.  Jen (cute curly hair) knew about me because she’s a local wedding photographer too.  It’s always an honor when another photographer asks you to photograph them. For their engagement shoot, they wanted to spend some time doing things they love. So we spent a couple of afternoon hours  at Portland’s Waterfront Park, just walking, talking and laying in the grass.  They were so natural together and it was so great to photograph them in their element. I can’t wait for their wedding in July.

As I was just about to post this blog, I received a post card in the mail from Mercy and Will. They are enjoying their honeymoon in St. Lucia right now and took the time to send me a note thanking Lindsay and I for photographing their wedding. That pretty much sums up how thoughtful these two are.

It was evident at their wedding, through the speeches from their closest friends, that Mercy and Will are some of the most sincere and kind people you will meet. Even during the getting ready part of the day, Mercy was so sweet to her bridesmaids and just wanted them to be happy in every moment.

Their wedding took place at the Old Laurelhurst Church in Northeast Portland.  It’s one of Portland’s oldest and with wall to wall stained glass, which made for beautiful light during their intimate ceremony.
